Eddie Hearn: 'Nehomar Cermeno will be Scott Quigg's toughest fight'

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that Venezuelan fighter Nehomar Cermeno will provide WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg with the toughest test of his career.

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg will have to perform well to maintain his unbeaten professional record.

It was revealed earlier this week that Quigg would defend his world title against Venezuelan boxer Nehomar Cermeno on April 19, and Hearn has insisted that the Mancunian is in for the "toughest fight of his career".

Hearn is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Cermeno already holds impressive victories over Cristian Mijares and undefeated Oscar Escandon in his last outing.

"Scott is in the toughest fight of his career against a mandatory challenger and interim champion."

Cermeno has won 22 of his 28 professional encounters, while Quigg is unbeaten in 29 matches.
