David Haye has admitted that he wants to become world heavyweight champion for the second time in his career.
The 33-year-old is currently undergoing a rehabilitation programme as he looks to recover from a serious shoulder injury, and despite doctors advising that he should retire from the sport, coach Adam Booth revealed last month that a return was a possibility.
The two-weight world titlist is still months away from a potential bout, but he has insisted that despite the severity of his injury, boxing three times a year is a possibility.
Haye told the London Evening Standard: "Adam and I have analysed why I was so injury prone and we believe that we have a training programme designed to minimise the risk. I will be looking to box three times a year, move up the rankings and fight for a world title within two years.
"I've broken through the apprehension of punching after surgery and I'm going to give it my best shot. Succeed or not, I'm not going to die wondering."
Haye, who saw two matches with Tyson Fury scrapped through injury, has not fought since beating Dereck Chisora almost two years ago.
