Ricky Hatton to announce boxing comeback this week?

Ricky Hatton is expected to announce his return to boxing on Friday.

It is understood that representatives of the 33-year-old will meet with the British Boxing Board of Control in the next 48 hours before applying for a licence.

According to Sky Sports News, he will make a winter return, with a fight in late November a possibility for the Brit.

Hatton – a former WBA, IVF and WBA welterweight champion – announced his retirement from boxing in July 2011 after winning 45 of his 47 professional fights.
