Robert Guerrero forced out of Marcos Maidana fight due to injury

Robert Guerrero has pulled out of the fight against Marcos Maidana due to a shoulder injury.

The fight, which was due to go ahead on August 27, has been cancelled after the 28-year-old suffered damage to his shoulder during a sparring session.

"It was numb and he couldn't move it at all,” Sky Sports News quotes the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer as saying. “They iced it. They were hoping it was going to get better overnight. It did not. It got worse.

"He can't even put a jacket on or a shirt and move the arm at all. They are afraid it could be a torn rotator cuff. We don't know."

Meanwhile, heavyweight boxers Seth Mitchell and Mike Mollo have also cancelled their fight.
