George Groves pulls out of Kenny Anderson title defence

George Groves has been forced to pull out of his Wembley Arena showdown with Kenny Anderson.

The pair were due to clash on September 14 for the British and Commonwealth titles, but the London fighter cancelled after suffering a cut to his right eye in his sixth-round stoppage of Francisco Sierra last week.

The 24-year-old suffered the cut during the third round of the San Diego bout.

Groves's withdrawal means the venue has now switched to York Hall, with Billy Joe Saunders topping the bill against unbeaten Australian Jarrod Fletcher.
