George Groves, Badou Jack clash to take place in United States

Sauerland Promotions announce that George Groves's bid to dethrone WBC super-middleweight champion Badou Jack will take place in the United States.

British super-middleweight George Groves must travel to the United States to face WBC champion Badou Jack.

Groves became mandatory challenger for the belt after defeating Christopher Rebrasse in September, but after Anthony Dirrell was granted a voluntary defence against Jack, the Londoner was forced to wait for his third opportunity to compete for a world belt.

After Jack prevailed against Dirrell in April, Groves's representatives Sauerland Promotions had hoped to win a purse bid on Friday, but that has now been cancelled after Sauerland and Mayweather Promotions were able to strike a deal.

The bout could potentially take place on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr's next fight, which is due to be held in Las Vegas in September.
