Kid Galahad handed two-year drugs ban

British super-bantamweight Kid Galahad is suspended for two years after testing positive for the banned substance stanzolol.

British super-bantamweight Kid Galahad has received a two-year suspension after he tested positive for a banned substance.

The 25-year-old, who has recorded 18 successive victories in his professional career, failed a drugs test after drinking a protein shake containing stanzolol, but the ban has been disputed by the Sheffield fighter.

Galahad will launch an appeal to the UK Anti-Doping Panel after claiming that a disagreement with his brother in September resulted in his sibling spiking his drink.

If the former European champion fails in his bid to clear his name, he will be sidelined until September 2016.
