Tyson Fury: 'British people don't support me'

Tyson Fury feels that his travelling roots make it harder for the British public to get behind him.

Although he is Manchester-born, Fury is from a family of Irish travellers, and the heavyweight has claimed that his heritage makes people reluctant to support him in his career.

"You can only earn the love of the British public and with me being a traveller, it has been difficult to do that, it is not easy," Fury told Sky Sports News.

"That's the way it has been for 1000 years. People just see me as a big gypo and people are very disrespectful to travellers, only time will tell if it changes.

"People don't class me as British, but hate me or love me, I am going win."

Fury faces David Haye in Manchester on September 28.
