Carl Froch questions Ricky Hatton's decision to return to boxing after three years in retirement.

IBF super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch has warned Ricky Hatton over his plans to return to boxing.

Hatton revealed he will fight in November, three years after his last bout - a devastating knock-out loss to Manny Pacquiao.

The 33-year-old was a two-weight world champion and suffered defeat only twice in 47 fights.

Froch is worried that 'The Hitman' might ruin his impressive legacy.

"Should he come back? Is it the right decision? We'll only find that out over the next year, 18 months, however long he is back for," Froch told BBC Radio 5.

"He got knocked out quite badly by Manny Pacqiuao and nobody wants to go out like that, but is the writing on the wall?

"Is that telling you it was the right decision [to retire]?"

Froch did go on to say that Hatton is the only one who can make the decision.

He continued: "If he wants to box, he should box. Only he knows if he can get in shape and fight at the top level again. I think he should stay retired but he's two years younger than me, who am I to tell him?"

Hatton will return in Manchester on November 24 to face an as-yet unnamed opponent.
