Carl Frampton: 'I hold upper hand in talks with Scott Quigg'

IBF super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton insists that he is "the boss" when it comes to negotiating a domestic showdown with WBA title holder Scott Quigg.

British super-bantamweight Carl Frampton has revealed that he is keen to secure a unification showdown with Scott Quigg providing that a deal is on his terms.

Last weekend, Frampton, the IBF champion, hit the canvas twice before defeating Alejandro Gonzalez, while WBA title holder Quigg enhanced his stock in the division with a second-round stoppage of former world champion Kiko Martinez.

However, despite their contrasting wins, Frampton has insisted that he still holds the upper hand on the negotiating table.

The 28-year-old told BBC Sport: "The message is bring it on if you want, but remember who's the A-side fighter here. When you come to negotiate you can't be making too many demands.

"If he really wants the fight, I'm happy to fight him in his own backyard, but we just need to remember who's the boss when it comes to negotiating."

Frampton is unbeaten in 21 outings as a professional, while Quigg has not lost in 33 matches.
