Chris Eubank Jr: 'George Groves is on downward curve'

Chris Eubank Jr claims that WBA super-middleweight champion George Groves is on "a downward curve" ahead of their WBSS semi-final in Manchester.

Chris Eubank Jr has promised to stop WBA super-middleweight champion George Groves in their WBSS semi-final in Manchester on February 17.

Eubank has held on to the IBO title since the start of 2017, but the all-British showdown with Groves will represent the biggest fight of his career.

However, after claiming that he is only improving fight by fight, Eubank has claimed that Groves is not prepared for their showdown in the North-West.

The 28-year-old told reporters: "I'm a man of my word - George, you will not see the 12th round. George is on a downward curve but this is my time.

"I'm a completely different guy to two years ago, a year ago, whereas George is the same guy. I know what's happened in sparring with George. I've felt what he has as a fighter and as a man. I know his weaknesses and strengths.

"Nothing he has can outweigh the fire and heat that's going to be brought down upon him."

Groves has said that Eubank lacks the "pedigree and ability" to compete at the highest level at 168lbs.
