Charlie Edwards: 'I will outlast John Riel Casimero'

British flyweight Charlie Edwards predicts that he will outlast IBF champion John Riel Casimero when they meet at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night.

British flyweight Charlie Edwards has claimed that he will take advantage of John Riel Casimero's 'slow feet' when he faces the IBF champion on Saturday night.

Edwards is attempting to become world champion in just his ninth professional fight, but he faces a stern test against the experienced Filipino.

However, Edwards is confident that he can cause an upset at London's O2 Arena and has backed himself to finished stronger than the two-weight world champion.

The 23-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "He's a very good fighter and a two-weight world champion. He can punch with both hands but I see a downfall in his feet, he is slow on them.

"I know with my awkwardness and trickiness and the way I hit and move. He's travelled all this way. When the jetlag sets in after round six - I go up a gear. Then he's in trouble."

Edwards claimed the English title in his fifth outing in the paid ranks but he is yet to compete for the British, Commonwealth or European belts.
