James DeGale: 'Victory will take me back to big time'

James DeGale declares that victory against Brandon Gonzales this weekend will propel him back to the "big time" in the world of boxing.

James DeGale has declared that victory against Brandon Gonzales on Saturday night will propel him back to the "big time".

The 2008 Olympic gold medallist has spent a large part of the past two years in the wilderness, but faces Gonzales at Wembley Stadium this weekend in a final eliminator for the IBF title.

"You could say I've become the forgotten man in the last couple of years but I'm in a fantastic position now, boxing a final eliminator in front of 80,000 at Wembley Stadium," DeGale told PA.

"I win this and I'm back in the big time. I'm in for a hard night's work but I'm feeling confident and just can't wait to do the business."

DeGale has won 18 of his previous 19 professional fights heading into the contest.
