Tommy Coyle: 'Desire will pull me through against Luke Campbell'

British lightweight Tommy Coyle insists that "desire and grit" will prove pivotal when he takes on Hull rival Luke Campbell at Craven Park on Saturday night.

British lightweight Tommy Coyle has insisted that it will not matter that opponent Luke Campbell is the better boxer of the two Hull rivals.

Coyle is a big underdog to upset Olympic gold medallist Campbell when they clash at Craven Park on Saturday night, but he believes that determination will prove key during the WBC eliminator.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Luke is a better fighter than me, I am a realist and I am going to be truthful. He is a better technician than me, but I don't think he possesses what I possess inside.

"That grit, desire and will to win. I think that is going to be the winning factor in this fight. It's in the home town and there will be a hostile crowd.

"I have got a tough fight ahead of me and it's going to be one hell of an ask, but I am confident I can do it and execute a great game plan."

Coyle has won 21 of his 23 fights as a professional, while Campbell is unbeaten in 11 outings.
