Nathan Cleverly has retained his WBO light-heavyweight crown by producing an assured and classy performance to comfortably defeat American Tommy Karpency in Cardiff.

The Welshman dominated the entire fight with his superior speed and devastating accuracy, claiming every round against his resilient opponent.

The victory extends the 25-year-old's unbeaten record to 24, 13 of which have gone the distance.

The fight was Cleverly's first on home turf in over four years.
