Ricky Burns to take on Leonardo Esteban Gonzalez

Ricky Burns will meet Leonardo Esteban Gonzalez in his first light-welterweight bout next month, it has been announced.

The Scottish boxer, who suffered a demoralising defeat at the hands of Dejan Zlaticanin in June, will take on the 32-year-old Argentine in Leeds.

Burns surrendered his WBO world title earlier this year after losing out to Terence Crawford on a unanimous points decision.

The fight has been set for October 4.
