Kell Brook: 'I'm ready for a world title'

Kell Brook claims that he is ready to win a world title after a career-best performance against Vyacheslav Senchenko.

British welterweight Kell Brook has insisted that he is ready to win a world title after his latest victory against Vyacheslav Senchenko.

The 27-year-old put a disappointing year behind him in a career-best performance, stopping the former world champion in four rounds.

He is now mandatory challenger for Devon Alexander's IBF belt, and is keen to show what he can do at an even higher level.

"I made a statement tonight," Brook told Sky Sports News.

"He [Senchenko] is tougher than he looks but I outboxed him. When I hurt him I knew I could take my time. I proved I can compete with the best and nothing is going to stop me [becoming world champion]. I'm ready.

"I'm glad to have got revenge for Ricky [Hatton, who lost to Senchenko]."

Brook improved his record to 31 wins from 31 fights and is likely to face the winner of Alexander against Shawn Porter, although fights with Amir Khan and Adrien Broner have also been mooted.
