Brook: 'I'm ready for Mayweather'

Kell Brook has insisted that he can be the man to inflict a first professional defeat on Floyd Mayweather Jr if he is given the opportunity to meet the American.

After beating Manny Pacquiao on points last weekend Mayweather suggested that he would finish his career with a bout in September, and Brook claims that he is ready to rise to the challenge in Las Vegas.

"I'd go in there very confident, unbeaten, I'm a world champion and I'm ready to take that zero away from him," the unbeaten Brit told Ringside.

"I'm ready. This is what I've done since I was kid and I've seen every style in the gym. Boxing is boxing, if you're born for it then whatever the occasion is you'll perform.

"[Amir] Khan's got fast hands and long arms so he possibly could trouble Mayweather. But he's not bringing anything to the table. Mayweather's got the titles and holds all the belts, except for me who holds the other belt."

Brook defends his IBF welterweight title against Frankie Gavin on May 30.
