Lewis Pinto's death confirmed as suicide

The death of British boxer Lewis Pinto has been confirmed as suicide in a statement released today.

Pinto was found dead on Sunday morning and his manager Mickey Helliet revealed that suicide was the reason behind the 24-year-old's death.

Helliet wrote on his Twitter account: "I am very very sorry, something terrible has happened but the rumours are true my boxer and good friend Lewis Pinto, hung himself this morning."

Pinto had only fought once at a professional level, a bout he won by beating Danny Dotchev on points in April.
