Adam Booth under consideration to train Nathan Cleverly

Booth under consideration to train Cleverly

Former light-heavyweight world champion Nathan Cleverly is considering linking up with trainer Adam Booth ahead of his cruiserweight debut.

Cleverly hasn't fought since losing his world title to Sergey Kovalev in August, and the Welsh fighter's father and current trainer Vince has revealed that his son is contemplating a move to the former trainer of David Haye and George Groves.

Cleverly Snr is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "He's trying things out with Adam Booth at the moment in London to see how that's working out so there's a couple of different things that's going on.

"We've been together since 11 years of age. Sometimes, there comes a time in life where you need to try different things, and Nathan has got to be taken out of his comfort zone."

The 26-year-old has withdrawn from his first bout at cruiserweight on three occasions due to injury.
