Tony Bellew slams "boring" Nathan Cleverly ahead of November rematch

Tony Bellew tells "boring" Nathan Cleverly that he will want to retire from boxing following their cruiserweight rematch in Liverpool on November 22.

Tony Bellew has told Nathan Cleverly that he will want to give up boxing after their November rematch in Liverpool.

Bellew was on the losing end of the pair's first bout in 2011, when Cleverly successfully defended his WBO world light-heavyweight title.

However, a rematch has been granted with both fighters competing at cruiserweight level in front of Bellew's home crowd on Merseyside next month.

"We're finally here," Bellew said in this afternoon's press conference. "It's been a long time coming because it's the fight I wanted.

"Every single close fight I've ever had, I've given immediate rematches. I'm known for doing it. This is happening now because he's got absolutely nowhere left to go. I'm the money fight in the division.

"After you've fought me you're not going to want to box anymore. At the end of the day, you are the most boring person people could wish to promote. You're not that bright because you're facing me in the rematch."

The fight will be held at the Echo Arena.
