Anthony Joshua open to Cornish fight

British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has indicated that he would welcome the chance to face unbeaten Gary Cornish at London's O2 Arena on September 12.

It has been reported by the Daily Mail that the Scot is favourite to be named as Joshua's next opponent, and the Olympic gold medallist believes that it would be the ideal fight to set him up for a showdown with former rival Dillian Whyte at the end of 2015.

The 25-year-old said: "Gary Cornish is a very good opponent. We went up to Scotland once before and the atmosphere was unbelievable. He's a big strong guy and is someone I'd like to box.

"That would be perfect for setting me up for boxing Dillian Whyte later in the year. Not really style wise, but definitely to build up that momentum. It'll build me towards the Whyte fight."

Joshua has won all of his 13 professional fights inside three rounds, while Cornish has not suffered defeat in 21 outings,
