USA basketball coach hails team after record 156 points

The United States basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has praised his side's ability to find the net after their Olympic record points tally in the 156-73 victory over Nigeria last night.

The previous record was Brazil's 138 in 1988, but the superstars of the NBA have smashed that total, and Krzyzewski is delighted with the favourites' shooting.

"We just shot better than any team in the game that I've ever coached," Sky Sports News quuotes Krzyzewski as saying.

"Our guys just couldn't miss tonight. Whenever you hit 29 three-pointers, it's very difficult to lose in a game like that."

USA top Group A with a points difference of 157.
