Great Britain lose final game to Brazil in women's basketball

Team GB lose final group match

Great Britain suffered defeat at the hands of Brazil in their final group match of the women's basketball tournament.

Brazil and Team GB were the only two teams in Group B yet to record a victory and both were looking to avoid a fifth-straight defeat.

Team GB started well and kept the game close, trailing by just three points at half-time.

Brazil proved to be too strong in the second half and ran away 78-66 winners.

Natalie Stafford and Julie Page top scored for Team GB, scoring 15 and 12 points respectively.

Both British basketball teams failed to win a match at London 2012 and exit as the competition moves on to the knockout stages.
