DeMarcus Cousins, Nicolas Batum named Players of the Week

DeMarcus Cousins and Nicolas Batum are named Players of the Week for their performances for the Sacramento Kings and the Charlotte Hornets respectively.

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins and Charlotte Hornets swingman Nicolas Batum have been named NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, after an impressive spell for both players.

The Hornets won three of their four games in the week and Batum, who arrived in a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers in the summer, recorded averages of 25.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Batum was successful with 15 of his 26 three-point shots during the run, and the Frenchman took the opportunity to pay tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks following the announcement.

The Kings also boasted a 3-1 record in the week, thanks largely to Cousins, who averaged 32.5 points and 11 rebounds per night while recording double-doubles in three of the four games.
