New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony left Monday night's game against the Houston Rockets due to back spasms late in the first half.
The Knicks fell to a 91-86 loss without the 30-year-old and in turn they slipped to 4-11 for the season after losing 10 of their last 12 games.
Anthony appeared to land awkwardly after attempting a jump shot with just minutes remaining in the second quarter, and after attempting to play on he was taken out of the game on the next possession and he did not return.
While he is expected to travel with the Knicks to Dallas on Wednesday night, he did receive pain medication for the spasms and he was not available at the arena after the game.
Anthony is leading the Knicks in scoring with 23.9 points per game while their next highest scorer is Amar'e Stoudemire with 12 points per contest.
