Phoenix Suns too strong for New Orleans Pelican

Eric Beldsoe and Markieff Morris combine for 27 points in a 101-94 victory for the Phoenix Suns over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Eric Bledsoe scored 24 points as the Phoenix Suns beat the New Orleans Pelicans 101-94 at the US Airways Center on Sunday evening.

The point guard continued his strong start to the season as the Suns maintained their unbeaten home record at the expense of the Pelicans.

Markieff Morris came off the bench to make nine of his 12 shots and contribute 23 points to the effort from the hosts.

Anthony Morrow made a three-point shot midway through the fourth quarter to reduce the deficit to just one but he missed a similar opportunity just a few moments later as the Pelicans missed the opportunity to take the lead.

A strong finish to the final period allowed the Suns to secure the triumph and claim their fifth success of the season.
