Milwaukee Bucks' Larry Sanders given ban for drug violation

Bucks' Sanders given 10-game ban

Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders has been handed a 10-game ban for violating the NBA's anti-drug programme.

The ban is the second of its kind for Sanders in less than a year after he missed the final five games of the 2013-14 season, with the player claiming that he was penalised for using marijuana.

The suspension will begin on Monday, and the 6'11" shot-blocker will not be paid for the duration of his ban.

"We are disappointed to learn the news of Larry's suspension. We will continue to work with Larry and the league to ensure he has the support he needs," a statement from the Bucks read.

Sanders's last appearance for the Bucks was on December 23, 2014 in their defeat to the Charlotte Hornets, and he has since missed the last 11 games for the East conference side.
