NBA roundup: Blake Griffin leads Los Angeles Clippers past Dallas Mavericks

Sports Mole rounds up Thursday night's three games in the NBA, with victories for the Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers.

The third night of the new NBA season saw just six teams take to the court after a frenetic 14-game Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Clippers moved to 2-0 thanks to a convincing win over the Dallas Mavericks in their home opener at Staples Center.

Blake Griffin starred with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while DeAndre Jordan, facing the side he verbally agreed to sign for in the summer before changing his mind and staying with the Clippers, pulled down 15 rebounds and blocked four shots.

The Memphis Grizzlies recovered from a 30-point hammering against the Cleveland Cavaliers with victory away at the Indiana Pacers, who have started 0-2 for the first time in six years.

It was a close contest until the final five minutes when the Grizzlies, led by Marc Gasol's 20 points and eight rebounds, pulled away at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Like Memphis, the Atlanta Hawks earned their first win of the season by downing the New York Knicks after a surprise home defeat to the Detroit Pistons in their opener on Tuesday.

Carmelo Anthony, with 25 points, was the game's top scorer for the Knicks, who impressed in their first match with victory at the Milwaukee Bucks, but it was the Hawks who came out on top by 11 points.

Results in full: Memphis Grizzlies 112-103 Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks 112-101 New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks 88-104 Los Angeles Clippers
