Copeland stable after knife attack

Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland is in a stable condition in hospital, after he was stabbed in New York on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old suffered knife wounds to his elbow and abdomen in an incident at 4am local time outside a Manhattan nightclub.

Bleacher Report reports that he underwent successful surgery after the event, in which his girlfriend was also harmed.

Police have arrested 22-year-old Shezoy Bleary, who is said to be the culprit.
