Report: Golden State Warriors scheduled to meet New Orleans Pelicans in week one

Defending NBA champions the Golden State Warriors will face the New Orleans Pelicans on the first day of the new season, according to reports.

The Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2 in the final to claim their first title in 40 years, and will be one of the favourites ahead of the new campaign.

Advocate.com claims that the champions will face the Pelicans at home on October 27, and then away from home just three or four days later.

The fixtures will be officially released next week.
