Chandler Parsons undergoes knee surgey

The Dallas Mavericks have announced that Chandler Parsons has undergone surgery to repair cartilage in his right knee.

The forward played through the injury during the team's playoff defeat to the Houston Rockets after missing the end of the regular season, and it is not yet known how long he will need to recover from the operation.

The 26-year-old thanked his fans for their well-wishes with a post in Instagram:

Thank you for all the support throughout this process. I will be back stronger and better than ever!!

Parsons, who joined the Mavericks from Houston last off-season, averaged 15.7 points per game this campaign.
