LeBron James, Kyrie Irving lead Cleveland Cavaliers to win

James, Irving lead Cavs to win

The Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a comfortable 114-88 win over the Miami Heat at the Quicken Loans Arena.

The visitors had to play most of the game without Dwyane Wade after the point guard injured his knee in the second quarter when the Heat were already trailing by 10.

Kyrie Irving and LeBron James made the most of Wade's absence, scoring 23 points each as the home side built on their first-half lead after the break.

Luol Deng and Hassan Whiteside cut the gap to 11 towards the end of the third, but JR Smith made a three-pointer just before the clock expired to hand momentum back to Cleveland.

The Cavaliers scored eight unanswered points to make sure their lead could not be overturned though, allowing James to move up to 20th on the NBA's all-time top scorers list.

The result gives the Cavaliers their 17th home win in a row, while the Heat remain tied for the final playoff place in the Eastern Conference.
