Celtics acquire David Lee from Warriors

The Boston Celtics have completed a trade deal to acquire David Lee from the Golden State Warriors.

The 32-year-old played a limited role for the Warriors in their NBA Championship win last season after he lost his place in the starting lineup to Draymond Green.

As a result, Lee has been traded to the Celtics, who have sent Gerald Wallace and Chris Babb to Steve Kerr's men.

"We are excited to welcome David as a member of the Celtics family," Celtics general manager Danny Ainge told reporters.

"His proven skill set and experience on a championship team will add valuable depth to our frontcourt and a veteran presence to our locker room."

Lee averaged 7.9 points per game in the 2014-15 season.
