England's Sarah Walker exits women's singles badminton in quarter-finals

Team England's Sarah Walker loses her quarter-final clash in the women's singles badminton to Canada's Michelle Li at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England's Sarah Walker has crashed out of the women's singles badminton as she was defeated by Canada's Michelle Li at the Commonwealth Games.

The 24-year-old played a tight first game with Li as the lead was exchanged several times, but the Canadian had just enough quality to secure the 21-18 win.

The second set played out just like the first as both women produced a quality array of shots to leave the game in the balance. However, Li upped the ante again to win the crucial points to seal her place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Li will play in her semi-final on Saturday.
