Team England's Rajiv Ouseph eases into badminton semi-finals

Team England's Rajiv Ouseph seals his place in the last four of the men's singles at the Commonwealth Games with victory Scotland's Kieran Merrilees.

England's Rajiv Ouseph has secured his place in the semi-finals of the men's badminton by defeating Scotland's Kieran Merrilees at the Commonwealth Games.

The 27-year-old eased to victory against Merrilees as he recorded a straight-sets victory to reach the last four at the Emirates Arena.

The first game proved to be a tight contest, but Ouseph had just enough quality to pull away from the Scot to secure a 21-14 victory.

The number three seed displayed his class in the second game as he dominated Merrilees with several high-quality strokes to seal a comfortable 21-7 win to reach the last four.

Ouseph will play India's Kashyap Parupalli in the semi-finals on Saturday.
