Uzbek gymnast suspended after failing drugs test

Uzbek artistic gymnast Luiza Galiulina has been provisonally suspended from the Olympic Games after testing positive for the prohibited substance furosemide, the International Olympic Committee has announced.

Galiulina provided a urine sample on July 25 that tested positive for the prohibited diuretic that can be used as a masking agent or for weight loss.

Upon receipt of the results of her B Sample analysis, a final decision will be pronounced by the Disciplinary Commission.
