Jamaica win gold in 4x100m in world record time

Jamaica's 4x100m team have smashed the world record on the way to gold in the relay final with a time of 36.84.

The United States were also inside the old world record time but had to settle for silver with their 37.04.

Jamaica's changeovers were not as good as they could have been, but Yohan Blake flew around the bend on the third leg to give Usain Bolt a headstart on the straight.

Third place went to Trinidad & Tobago after Canada were disqualified and stripped of their gold medal. Trinidad's time was 38.12.

The Jamaica team bring down the curtain on the athletics, with Bolt claiming his sixth Olympic gold.
