Rasheed Dwyer eager to add more success to Commonwealth title

Rasheed Dwyer is hopeful of adding to his success in the 200m at the Commonwealth Games as he looks to achieve "greater things" in his career.

Rasheed Dwyer has revealed his intention to become an even bigger star in the world of sprinting after claiming gold in the 200m at the Commonwealth Games.

The 25-year-old stormed home with a strong finish in the latter stages of the final to hold off the challenge from teammate Warren Weir, with fellow Jamaican Jason Livermore completing a clean sweep in the absence of Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake.

Recording more success in major competitions is now the plan for Dwyer, who failed to make the final at the Games in Delhi four years ago.

"It's a wonderful feeling to get a 1-2-3 for Jamaica. Hopefully this is a stepping stone for me to greater things," Dwyer told BBC Sport.

England's Danny Talbot could only manage a seventh-place finish in Glasgow.
