England runner Kelly Massey: 'Wet conditions gave England slight advantage'

Massey: 'Conditions gave us slight advantage'

Team England athlete Kelly Massey believes that the wet conditions at Hampden Park may have given her and her teammates a slight advantage in tonight's 4x400m relay at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Massey, along with Christine Ohuruogu, Shana Cox and Anyika Onuora managed to claim bronze for England, behind winners Jamaica and silver medallists Nigeria.

Ahead of the race, rain poured down onto the track, and while Massey believes that gave English athletes a slight advantage, the 29-year-old has insisted that every competitor had to deal with it.

"It's the same for everybody," Massey told Sports Mole. "I suppose we have a little bit more of an advantage because we're used to it, but it's the same for everybody."

England secured third place in a time of 3:27.24.
