Mo Farah to test fitness today ahead of Commonwealth Games

Mo Farah will test his fitness in a training session today before deciding whether he will be able to compete at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Mo Farah's chances of appearing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are expected to hinge on how he comes through training today.

The 31-year-old is due to race in the 5,000m and 10,000m events at the Games, but his place became under threat when he was forced to withdraw from the Glasgow Grand Prix last weekend due to abdominal pains.

Should the double Olympic champion prove his fitness, the long-distance runner will compete in Sunday's London Anniversary Games.

"He has a big session on Wednesday that will decide whether he is fit to come to London and push on to the Commonwealth Games," BBC Sport quotes UK Athletics chief executive Niels de Vos as saying.

The Glasgow Games will get underway next Wednesday.
