Jodie Williams, Bianca Williams "shocked" and "gobsmacked" by Commonwealth medals

Jodie Williams and Bianca Williams say that they are "shocked" by their silver and bronze medals in the women's 200m final at the Commonwealth Games.

The England duo of Jodie Williams and Bianca Williams have declared that they are "shocked" and "gobsmacked" after winning medals in the women's 200m final at the Commonwealth Games.

J Williams clocked a personal best of 22.50s in Hampden Park, just pipping her compatriot B Williams by 0.08s.

The duo were followed closely by another English athlete, Anyika Onuora, and they admitted that they were surprised by their superb team effort.

Jodie told BBC Sport: "I'm in a world of shock! We beat the Jamaicans and that's huge.

"We've come and out shown we can perform on the big stage which is great sign for the future."

Her teammate and bronze medallist Bianca added: "I am gobsmacked! I couldn't ask for more. To finish third and get a medal so I am so proud of myself."

Blessing Okagbare became the double Commonwealth sprint champion by winning the 200m, adding to her 100m victory on Monday.
