Mike Shanahan: 'I expect Fred Davis to play well'

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan says that he expects tight end Fred Davis to play well.

Mike Shanahan has said that he expects Fred Davis to play well for the Washington Redskins.

The tight end has started just three games for the NFC East side this season, but hauled in a 23-yard touchdown catch against the Atlanta Falcons last weekend.

The head coach told reporters: "There's no question. He played well last week, getting more into the groove, but we expect him to play well, so hopefully [he] has a big game this week for us.

"You see him getting in football shape, more comfortable I think with himself. He's getting a chance to play more with Jordan [Reed] being out, Niles [Paul] a little bit banged up and [Darrel Young] a little bit banged up. So he's gotten a lot more opportunities, which I think has been good for him."

The Redskins host the Dallas Cowboys tomorrow.
