Robert Griffin III has denied that there is a rift between himself and the Washington Redskins coaching staff.

The quarterback has indicated that he would like to be more involved during pre-season, but head coach Mike Shanahan has been restricting him while he continues to recover from a knee ligament injury.

The 2012 offensive rookie of the year told reporters: "I just want everybody to know that if there's any questions about a rift between me and coach, or if there's a conflict, there is no conflict. Coaches coach, I'm a player.

"Coach has a plan and I'm abiding by that plan. I'm doing everything that they ask me to do. I trust those guys. They want me to have a long career and that's what this part of this plan is about.

"Yesterday, I voiced my opinion about it because I was asked about it. That's been twisted and turned and tried to put against this team, and that's not what we want. Like I said, coaches coach. So with that being said, I'm excited about tomorrow."

Shanahan indicated that Griffin would take part in his first 11-on-11 full-team drills since sustaining the injury later today.
