Garcon wants to avoid toe operation

Pierre Garcon has said that he is not planning on having surgery to relieve pain in his toe.

The Washington Redskins wide receiver missed part of the 2012 season with a toe injury sustained in the opening week of the campaign, and still encountered pain upon his return.

Garcon told the Washington Post: "That's the last thing. Hopefully surgery is not an option, but if I get enough doctors to say I need surgery, then surgery it is.

"But, if I can limp around for seven more years, I'll probably limp around for seven more years and be all right."

The original injury kept Garcon out for six games, but he was able to score three touchdowns in seven games once he was back on the field in the second half of the season.
