McCoy's neck injury not long-term issue

Washington Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy's neck injury is not considered a long-term issue and he may yet come under consideration against the New York Giants this weekend.

Colt suffered a sprained neck in Sunday's 24-0 loss to the St Louis Rams and coach Jay Gruden is still in the process of picking his starters for the last three games of the season.

"I feel OK," McCoy told reporters on Monday after undergoing further tests on the injury.

Gruden has insisted that McCoy will start if he is fit enough to play which has put Robert Griffin III's future at the franchise under scrutiny.

However, if the Redskins medical staff deem him to be unfit to feature then Griffin III may be handed the opportunity to build on the five plays he made over the final two minutes against the Rams.
