Bobby Wagner: 'We proved ourselves to be the best defense'

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has claimed that his side have proved themselves to have the best defense in the NFL.

The Seahawks topped the defensive charts in the regular season, but faced their toughest test of the campaign in last night's Super Bowl when they took on a Denver Broncos offense that had scored more points than any other side in NFL history on the road to the showpiece event.

However, Seattle made easy work of Peyton Manning and his teammates as they raced into a 36-0 lead before eventually going on to win the match 43-8.

"The only way we could say we were the best defence was to take down the best offence," Wagner told The AP.

The victory saw the Seahawks lift the Vince Lombardi trophy for the first time, while the Broncos fell to 2-5 in Super Bowls.
