Seahawks thrash struggling Jaguars

Russell Wilson has thrown four touchdown passes to help the Seattle Seahawks move to 3-0 in the NFL with a comfortable 45-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Zach Miller got the hosts off to a quick start when he ran in the opening touchdown from a single yard, before doubling his tally early in the second half by collecting Wilson's short pass.

Steven Hauschka converted a 21-yard field goal soon after, with the Jaguars unable to get anything going on offense as a relentless tide of pressure came their way.

With 11 seconds left on the clock in the first half, Jacksonville's misery was compounded by Sidney Rice, who caught a clever looping pass from Wilson to make the score 24-0 at the interval.

The Jaguars continued to struggle in the second half at CenturyLink Field, with Wilson and Rice quickly combining again for another six points.

Staring at a 31-0 deficit the visitors finally got on the scoreboard midway through the third quarter, as Maurice Jones-Drew drove over from close range.

Tarvaris Jackson took over from Wilson for the Seahawks with the game won and quickly made an impact, throwing to Doug Baldwin for a 35-yard touchdown pass.

Jordan Todman made the scoreline look respectable with a second touchdown for the Jaguars in the fourth quarter, but there was still time for Jackson to run in from five yards to make it a six-touchdown success for the Seahawks.
