San Francisco 49ers beat the Green Pay Packers

49ers blow away Green Bay

The San Francisco 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship game in impressive fashion tonight with a 45-31 win against over the Green Bay Packers.

Both sides enjoyed a free-scoring start which saw the two teams trade 45 first-half points.

Rookie quarterback Colin Kaepernick capped a dominant display with a 56-yard touchdown run in the third quarter as the 49ers moved eight points clear.

Frank Gore and Anthony Dixon both scored in the fourth quarter to make the game safe, with Greg Jennings's reply for the visitors coming too late to change the match.

San Francisco held firm in the closing stages to keep their Super Bowl hopes alive and set up an NFC final against the winner of Sunday's clash between the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks.
