Eric Wright fails San Francisco 49ers physical

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released Eric Wright after he failed a physical with the San Francisco 49ers.

The cornerback was traded to the NFC West side last week, but the team confirmed yesterday that he has not passed medical checks.

The Bucs later announced that the trade had been voided and that Wright had been cut.

Wright, who had been recovering from an Achilles injury, made 37 tackles and one interception for Tampa Bay last season.
